Laurel and Hardy - Their Purple Moment
Their Purple Moment pivoted on the concept that every husband was expected to pony up the contents of his pay envelope immediately upon entering the house on payday, and woe be it to he who holds back a couple of bucks from the little woman.

Laurel and Hardy - You're Darn Tootin'
The boys playing in the local band and through a series of apparently logical steps of progression, this seemingly normal world suddenly erupts into sidewalk kicking contests, belly punching and finally, and entire citizenry gone mad.

Laurel and Hardy: Big Business
As the boys favorite foil, James Finlayson took rudimentary sales resistance to new heights. As a simple "no" evolves into the total destruction of Stan's and Babe's car, their christmas tree -- and Fin's comfortable home.

Laurel and Hardy: Double Whoopee

Laurel and Hardy: That's My Wife
That's My Wife confirms the nearly full development of Stan and Babe's screen personas and demonstrates that they truly mastered the art of silent film comedy. It seems the real Mrs. Hardy has given Babe and ultimatum. Either Stan leaves, or she leaves. Naturally she leaves.

Laurel and Hardy: They go Boom!
The boys are of course, joined by oversensitive Charlie Hall, in his traditional role as the unforgiving landlord. This time Babe is sneezing and wheezing while fighting the dreaded runny nose.

Laurel and Hardy: Battle of the Century
The first reel is comprised of an hysterical bout between the emaciated Stan and real-life champion weightlifter, Noah Young. Of particular note is an unbilled extra sitting in the front row of the crowd who is easily recognizable as the young Lou Costello in perhaps his earliest screen appearance! The beginning of the second reel is still missing. It featured insurance sales man Eugene Pallette who sells Ollie a policy on Stan, which pays off should he injure himself. Naturally, Stan begins to fall down a lot as they traverse the streets of Hal Roach Studios, finally running into the surly Charlie Hall, who blames banana-eating Babe for the peel on which he has just fallen! (The missing sequence is represented on the second complete version of the film presented on this tape by rare surviving stills and the original script.) You know the rest, of course, the greatest pie fight in the history of movies. Copyright 1928.

Laurel and Hardy: Sugar Daddies
One of those hilarious flapper-era swipes at the antics of the newly rich, in which Oilman Jimmy, James Finlayson, wakes up married to some old trollop, who, with her weight-lifter brother (Noah Young), plans to grab fifty grand to "go away". Lawyer Stanley joins Butler Ollie to try and work things out, but soon, panic ensues, and in an effort to escape from gun-wielding Noah, the boys assume the crazy "Stan in drag riding on the back of Jimmy" routine they were to use again in 1931's "Chickens Come Home" in order to escape. Copyright 1927.

Laurel and Hardy: Two Tars
A minor construction project is underway, and traffic is backed up for miles. Being take charge kind of guys, our sailors pull out of the long line of traffic and try to pass, but to no avail.

Laurel and Hardy: Unaccustomed As We Are
Their first "All-Talking Comedy" as it would be billed by MGM. The boys are embroiled in one of the knock-down drag-out domestic disputes for which they became famous, thanks to Stan being brought home by Babe for dinner with the little woman, unannounced. Co-starring Thelma Todd and Mae Busch. Copyright 1929. Includes the silent version.
